About

I am a storyteller, illustrator, and educator working across comics, illustration, and animation. My work focuses on character-driven narratives and the ways visual storytelling can engage audiences through composition, gesture, and design.

I am currently a Professor of Practice in the Digital Production Arts program at Clemson University, where I teach courses in visual foundations, concept art, storyboarding, 2D / 3D hybrid animation, character rigging, and production studio. My teaching emphasizes drawing as the foundation of visual storytelling, helping students understand how character design, staging, and visual language support narrative development in animation, games, and sequential art.

My creative work centers on graphic novels and sequential storytelling. I am the creator of Suzy Samson: The Gorgon and the Basilisk (Rosarium Publishing, 2024), a story that blends mythology and contemporary themes of resilience and reinvention. I have also worked on the adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Pirate Blood in collaboration with writer Martin Gately, translating prose narrative into the visual language of comics.

In addition to my creative work, I mentor student animation productions and collaborative projects within Clemson’s Digital Production Arts program. I served as faculty advisor on the animated short Jurassic Joyride, helping guide the project through production and assisting the student team with festival submissions. The film screened at multiple festivals and received the National Student Award at the Mobile Animation Film Festival.
