Artist Statement
Above all else, I am a storyteller. My work is unapologetically narrative. Whether I am creating a single illustration or a sequence of panels in a comic, my goal is always the same—to engage the viewer through story. Story is fundamental to how people understand the world and connect with one another. It is how we explain our experiences, share lessons, and entertain ourselves. In my view, story is the soul of visual art.
My creative practice focuses on visual storytelling through sequential art, graphic novels, and character-driven illustration. I am particularly interested in how composition, gesture, pacing, and visual rhythm guide the viewer through a narrative experience. My creative research focuses on sequential storytelling, character design, and the development of narrative across visual media, particularly the ways in which techniques from comics, illustration, and animation can inform and enrich one another.
